Screening Doctor / Clinical Screening Physician – London Bridge Richmond Pharmacology are pleased to be offering openings for Screening Doctors to join their Clinical team. The role will focus on performing physical examinations for trial volunteers to ensure they meet the requisite requirements to take part in the study. We are an early phase clinical trials unit and this role will cover screening for Phase I (often first-in-human) trials. The successful candidate will be a fully GMC registered physician with drive and enthusiasm, looking to gain experience in research within a highly respected clinical research organization, located near London Bridge. You will need to have good clinical skills and will be accustomed to applying your sound clinical knowledge to inform your assessment of evolving real time situations. It is expected that you will have at least a year or preferably a couple of years of post FY1/2 experience or perhaps experience as a specialty registrar with Grade code 9 You must have undertaken and completed either your undergraduate or post-graduate training in the UK to be considered for this position. Role & Responsibilities To perform physical examinations (check whether any special tests are required for a given study you are screening for, such as groin lymph node examination or MMSE) To assess ECGs – are the parameters within the study-defined normal ranges? Confirm morphology is normal Identify if there is a valid triplicate Assess vital signs against study-defined ranges Check past and current medical history Check the pre-screening questionnaire Update the electronic volunteer database (VDB) with findings from screening Working environment You will be involved in 3 main clinical areas: the screening/outpatient ward where you will be based and 2 ‘inpatient’ wards. Fluency in English, both oral and written, is essential.
