Are you an experienced upper Key Stage 2 teacher who is passionate about raising attainment for KS2 SATs, and would be interested in teaching Year 6 intervention groups?

A large primary school in the Enfield area are seeking an experienced Year 6 teacher to undertake a split Year 6 class teacher and group intervention role, to start as soon as possible. The role is on a full-time basis and would involve teaching streamed Maths and English classes in the mornings, and group Maths and English intervention sessions in the afternoons. Competitive salary available – MPS 1-6 Outer London £27,596 - £38,963.

The school is an inclusive all-through, 2 to 18 Academy that is committed to giving children the best possible education. The popularity of the Academy has increased year on year. It is now the school of choice for local families and is over-subscribed in many year groups. Students make very good progress across the primary phase, and their KS1 and KS2 SATS results last summer were in line with national averages.

The core duties of this Year 6 Class / Intervention Teacher role are:
• Teaching streamed Year 6 classes Numeracy and Literacy lessons every morning
• Delivering a range of group Numeracy and Literacy intervention sessions to small groups of pupils every afternoon
• Planning and delivering lessons in line with pupils’ abilities, and collaborating with parallel class teachers in order to correctly pitch challenging lessons which extend student learning
• Regularly liaising with parallel class teachers regarding the progress of pupils who are undertaking targeted and intensive intervention sessions

Attributes of the ideal candidate for this Year 6 Class / Intervention Teacher:
-It is essential that you demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning and behaviour strategies, and have a thorough understanding of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum, with excellent subject knowledge in Numeracy and Literacy.
-Experience delivering intervention group sessions is desirable, and ideally you will have at least 2 years’ experience teaching in Year 6. SATs booster session experience is also highly desirable.

Location: The school is based near to Ponder’s End in Enfield, is very accessible via National Rail and Overground services, and is also a short journey from Tottenham Hale. The school also have plenty of staff parking facilities.
