An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development professional to join the dynamic Marketing & Sales team of an international legal practice on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. Based in either London or Bristol, the Business Development Manager will be tasked with driving growth within the Energy & Utilities and Transport & Automotive markets.

You will be responsible for developing an effective sector strategy that builds long term growth and also for the creation of new relationships. The Business Development Manager will be charged with developing a sales strategy for both accounts and targets, deciding on where to grow long term relationships and building a sales funnel and relationship plan and also taking ownership of agreed sales campaigns through a combination of coaching and direct leadership. You will project manage sales opportunities and pitches to deliver tailored, compelling propositions, coaching the pitch teams with support from the Head of Business Development. The successful candidate will manage major accounts, using the established CRM system and will work with service lines to identify lead services to develop through the E&U and T&A sub-sectors. The role holder will also be tasked with progressing European sector plans.

Ideal candidates for the role of Business Development Manager will be degree educated or equivalent with proven business development experience in a major professional services firm, which should include client facing experience. Strategic sector insight from across the E&U and T&A markets, or at a minimum a strong general understanding of the sectors is essential, while existing contacts within the E&U and T&A sectors would be highly beneficial. Exceptional organisation, project management and communication skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders are pre-requisite, while the ability to communicate confidently in one or more other European languages would be advantageous.
