The Head Mistress of Lancing College Preparatory School at Hove, Kirsty Keep, invites applications for the post of an afternoon School Secretary.
The ideal candidate will have a confident disposition and be comfortable dealing with various people both on the telephone and in person. A positive and flexible attitude is essential.
The main responsibilities of the School Secretaries are to ensure that administrative and clerical tasks are undertaken in accordance with agreed policies, procedures and appropriate legislation, managing all aspects of the school reception service including greeting visitors and answering phones. This role will offer first contact for all external communication, including dealing with parent queries and deciding what action needs to be taken and by whom. High and professional standards will be essential as the front line to the school.
The afternoon School Secretary is required to work Monday to Friday, 1pm to 5pm, term time only plus an additional 5 days. In addition, you may be required to work occasional extra days, evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.
