ICT Senior Technical Officer
Harrogate Borough Council are looking for an experienced ICT Senior Technical Officer to join their team! Job Title: ICT Senior Technical Officer Salary: £29,055 - £30,756 per annum Location: Harrogate, Yorkshire Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week. Harrogate Borough Council is embarking on the next phase of its transformation programme, following our move to brand new office accommodation; we are looking for someone with a positive ‘can do’ attitude to join our friendly and professional team. Continually improving and enhancing our technical infrastructure, you will primarily be working within a larger team providing 2nd\3rd line support, responsible for ensuring that the Council’s ICT data & communication infrastructure, applications and desktop services are available and providing an optimum level of performance to customers and staff. You will be comfortable acting as a technical lead in delivering corporate projects and have proven experience in providing ICT development and support in a hands-on role, supporting a wide variety of hardware and applications. ICT Senior Technical Officer – Key Responsibilities: - To be an effective and proactive member of the ICT Service, customer focused with personal values and behaviours that are consistent with the Council’s expected values and behaviours - To manage Technical Officers and/or Technical Support Officers as required by the ICT Service Management Team to deliver a quality end to end ICT service to the Council - To work flexibly within the Support & Maintenance or Delivery Team - To develop and review ICT policies and procedures as appropriate - To develop, deploy, monitor, manage, maintain, upgrade and support all ICT systems, infrastructure, databases, hardware and software - To provide strong and effective management of the Technical Officers and Technical Support Officers within the ICT Service to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and the development and maintenance of business as usual (BAU) work. ICT Senior Technical Officer – Relevant Experience: - Experience of devising and delivering policies and procedures - Evidence of people, leadership and management skills - Effective programme and project management skills - Management of budgets, cost control and identification of efficiency savings/income generation - Evidence of using performance management to drive service improvement and instil a culture of continuous improvement - Evidence of delivering projects on time, to budget and customer expectation - Experience of working with and developing effective relationships with stakeholders/customers - Experience of working within or managing an ICT service team, with strong technical knowledge and the ability to translate complex technical data and specifications into plain English.
