Product Design Engineer - An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a leading manufacturer of manual cleaning products based in the Stourbridge area, who have always had a reputation for being at the forefront of innovative design within their field. My client is looking for a Product Design Engineer to add to the business and be responsible for creating and developing new products as well as improving the performance and design of their existing products. Role responsibilities – • Create prototypes of concepts and products for evaluation and presentation • Plan, design and evaluate products to make sure that the finished product can be tested thoroughly. • Engage with the team to resolve complex design challenges, create bespoke machined or printed parts and help improve prototype process. • Finish and assemble concepts to a high-level of presentation quality. • Use hand sketches, computer aided designs (CAD) to create 3D models according to established specifications. • Develop strong relationships to assist in streamlining workflow. To be successful in this role you MUST meet the below requirements – • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Design course or equivalent experience • 3+ years of experience in an Engineering/Design role with experience in consumer electronics and product development • CAD experience (SolidWorks, NX,) • Experience in working with cross-functional teams • Hands-on experience and knowledge of the full spectrum of the prototype development process, such as: 3D printing, CNC machining, molding, casting, functional prototypes, electrical integration and appearance models with aesthetic fit, finishes at a production-level appearance • Experience devising and constructing tools, dies, moulds, jigs, and fixtures, or modify existing tools and equipment to achieve desired outcome • Experience with hand finishing, painting and assembly of high-end visual and appearance Models In return, you will receive an excellent remuneration package including a salary between £25,000 and £28,000 depending on experience, working 8:00am-4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-3:30pm on a Friday.
