Ordnance Survey has an opportunity available for a UX Designer to join the team based in Southampton. In this exciting position you’ll be working with creative, passionate and friendly individuals including senior UX designers, digital designers and the content team. You’ll deliver UX digital projects to help influence how our customers experience digital services across the leisure, government and business markets. You will do this through tools such as journey flows, scenarios, wireframes and interactive prototypes which are based around user needs. You’ll also be responsible for usability testing designs on an iterative basis and be able to translate user research data into practical solutions. Sound enticing? Skills and experience required to be our UX Designer: User-focused: You have a deep understanding of responsive and mobile design and understand user accessibility needs. You have experience in using tools such as Axure, Sketch and InVision. Restless: Constantly striving to improve customer experience, you’re well-versed in current UX trends and technologies, and have your eye to the future. You challenge things. You will recommend different ways of doing and improving things (we want you to have a voice). You won’t be afraid to challenge assumptions about our customers and you can confidently explain your thinking when asked. A collaborative team player: You will enjoy working with digital designers and developers to ensure final work meets our user needs. You love sketching out your designs collaboratively, are happy to input into projects and present improvements to stakeholders. You’re a plate-spinner: You are comfortable with a changing workload and prioritising jobs as they’re assigned to you.
