Senior developer / Technical lead - Leading insurance firm My client is a global insurance firm based the heart of the City, they are looking for an experienced developer to lead the technical development of their insurance products. You will be liaising directly with the business so excellent communication skills are essential. In addition, you will support the Head of Development in the day to day management of the Product Developers and Web Developers. You will also be responsible for analysing product and system developments, working closely with Business analysts, members of the business and management staff to ensure system changes and developments are thoroughly considered, working with both in house and 3rd party development teams to ensure changes are implemented effectively. Skills and abilities needed to perform role Strong insurance product development knowledge and skills. Ability to confidently engage with senior business representatives. Solid understanding of application development lifecycles and methodologies. Excellent communicator both written and verbal. Ability to effectively analyse and resolve complex system problems. Knowledge and Experience Must have: Insurance product development on an industry standard insurance platform. Insurance product development on a bespoke insurance platform/portal. Lloyd's MGA/Underwriting experience. Development skills. Database Querying skills, preferably Oracle. Application lifecycle in a professional environment, including work item management and source control. With experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. A basic understanding of Web development technologies. Desired: Experience in an appropriate development language/platform e.g.) Python, c#/.net Test methodologies, including unit testing, system testing, user acceptance testing. OWASP, penetration testing, GDPR, security related functions. Cloud platform technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure. Web platform technologies, preferably IIS, Microsoft Azure Web Apps, Umbraco. Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Office 365 technologies. Experience in building test automation frameworks using Selenium and/or other tools. Product development using RiskWrite or Global XB.
