Parkside is a 32-bed residential care home that has been operating in the London Borough of Havering since 1971. The home is owned by Romford Baptist Housing Association Ltd, which is a not for profit organisation. The home works in partnership with Romford Baptist Church to create a Christian ethos for the residents and staff, most of whom are Christians. It is essential that the Deputy Manager upholds this philosophy and helps maintain a loving Christian environment. Role Outline As Deputy Manager your role will incorporate a range of responsibilities to assist the Care Manager with the smooth running of the home. This will include, but not be limited to: Managing occupancy levels and maintaining up to date records, authorising staff holidays and assisting in organising staff meetings and training Supervising duty rotas, arranging and being part of an on-call rota for out of hours and emergencies Ensuring that medication is ordered and administered within policies and procedures, undertaking weekly audits Ensuring that care is planned to meet the resident’s needs and that each individual’s dignity and personality is respected Deputy Manager Essential Criteria Ideally four years in Care industry, 2 years in a Senior Post. IT literate NVQ Level 4 or Diploma 5/ or willing to undertake appropriate training Understanding and commitment to the Christian ethos, leadership, strong inter-personal and organisational skills, delivers well under pressure with a caring nature.
