Penguin Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a well-respected national consultancy on the hire of an Associate Planner to their Newcastle Office. The company have multiple offices strategically placed throughout the UK and employ over 350 staff.In this role you will join an experienced planning team to support public and private sector clients on a variety of projects across the Residential, Employment, Retail, Energy & Infrastructure sectors.You will join a supportive team environment with exciting career opportunities, have client exposure, enjoy outstanding professional development and gain exposure to an innovative and exciting multi-disciplinary environment. Key responsibilities of the role-Promoting residential, mixed-use, employment and other developments through the Local Development Framework-Coordinating subsequent applications-Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base-Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications of all sizes / types-Preparation of planning and occasionally socio-economic statements-Lodging appeals and potentially appearing at Informal Hearings-Developing client relationships as part of our team-Co-ordination of internal and external project teams and project management / QA Job requirements -MRTPI qualified-Have strong planning experience, including, residential and employment experience-Have good local planning knowledge in the North East region-Have experience in consultancy or a similar commercial environment-Have project management skills-Are committed and have an eye for detail-Can work with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative-Have a strong teamworking capability-Hold a full UK driving licence-Business development interest / experience beneficial Why apply?
