Job Purpose We require an experience Java Analyst Developer to join our team. Primarily you will be involved with the planning and refactoring of a key Java based enterprise application that processes much of the companies quote to cash cycle. Our Enterprise Java applications are constantly evolving according to the needs of the business and will therefore represent great a challenge for the right individual. The Job Role You will be heavily involved in the design, development, testing and deployment (to test and live) of this and other Java applications along with other members of the team. The role involves some 2nd line support responsibilities including maintenance of the live environments. This is an ideal role for a self-starter who appreciates that IT solves a business need. The ideal candidate will be confident in asking questions to all areas of IT and to end users, and comfortable developing Java servlet based user interfaces. You will be a keen learner who seeks to continually develop your skills, and able to learn complex processes and systems. Key Responsibilities Full development lifecycle (requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, release, support). System documentation (HLD, LLD). System performance analysis. Basic knowledge of directory servers (AD/LDAP). Experience and working knowledge of deploying Java applications to containerisation technology. A keen interest and experience of architecting highly available Java based user interface and service-based systems. A working knowledge of common design patterns A passion for building maintainable, object-oriented, well documented code. Technical Skills Essential skills: Java 7, Apache, Tomcat, Servlet based UI systems, J2EE, LDAP, EJB, Eclipse IDE, Subversion version control, J2EE Application Server, RESTful web services, object-relational mapping, SOLID principles, SQL, Ant, Maven Advantageous: Java 8/9/10, IBM i/System21 ERP, SQLServer, JProfiler, VisualVM, Nexus (Build artefact repository), Jenkins (continuous integration), Glassfish Application Server (v2.1, 4.0), Richfaces, JSF1, JPA (eclipselink) Key Skills Full development lifecycle (requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, release, support). System documentation (HLD, LLD). System performance analysis. Basic knowledge of directory servers (AD/LDAP). Experience and working knowledge of deploying Java applications to containerisation technology. A keen interest and experience of architecting highly available Java based user interface and service-based systems. A working knowledge of common design patterns A passion for building maintainable, object-oriented, well documented code. It would also be beneficial to have the following skills: Maintaining an operational live environment (specifically Tomcat Servlet Engine). Release management. Experience of building and coding for application server clusters. Domain knowledge of IT distribution. IBM i/System21 ERP system integration.
