Springdene Nursing & Care Homes Ltd JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: WEEKEND DOMESTIC ASSISTANT Responsible to: The Home Manager Accountable to: The Operations Manager Main Duties Carry out general cleaning duties, including residents’ bedrooms, the operation of powered equipment and laundry machines. Remove dead flowers from resident’s rooms, and water plants if needed. General dining room duties e.g. set and clean tables, clean chairs, floors etc. Washing up and cleaning of the kitchen. Washing of the walls to shoulder height. To be familiar with and observe Health & Safety Regulations and report any matters of concern to the officer on duty. Tidy and remove household rubbish and incontinent material in the appropriate manner. To take care of equipment, to include the proper storage of cleaning materials such as bleach, polish etc. (COSHH) Remember, the resident’s rooms are their homes and they must be treated with respect. Do not enter a resident’s room without knocking and waiting 10 seconds for an answer, even if you consider the room to be empty. ADDITIONAL DUTIES - You must be prepared, on occasions, to undertake additional tasks, unspecified in this job description, at the Manager's request.
