Developer/Engineer My client is seeking individuals with solid technical backgrounds and strong analytics skills to join their Data Analytics team. Successful candidates will have strong SQL skills, especially in a Microsoft SQL Server environment, experience with Microsoft programming tools, and will be familiar with visualization tools such as Tableau / Spotfire. Familiarity with accounting systems and principles would be beneficial. An understanding of various ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP is highly desirable. This role will help develop tools and applications internally to help streamline data analytics processes and also externally phased applications, in addition to pure data transformation, analytics, and reporting to service clients as necessary. Responsibilities: Identify and extract data in a forensically sound manner, often in support of compliance assessments and investigations Perform data integrity and completeness exercises prior to executing analytics Analyse accounting, finance, and various other types of data to identify patterns and anomalous transactions Leverage technical acumen to drive internal projects (e.g. process automation) and resolve ad-hoc challenges Collaborate with the forensic accounting teams to ensure relevant datasets are identified and collected, design tailored data queries to support the project’s objectives, prepare results of analyses in effective and client-friendly formats, and problem-solve together where challenges occur. Liaise with client counterparts in finance and IT functions Documentation and report writing as needed, operating under a standardized reporting framework Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Management Systems, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Accounting, Finance or other relevant fields Strong understanding and experience working with relational databases and reporting tools (e.g. SQL Server, SSRS, Tableau, etc.) Planning, executing electronic data processing projects, including data conversion Comfortable in a consulting setting, interacting with clients and internal stakeholders Professional demeanour and strong communication skills, both written and oral Must be a team player and have a strong work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail Ability to work to a deadline on concurrent projects Valid passport and availability for both domestic and international travel (approx. 50%), as there may be some travel on short notice.
