With Certitude you have the opportunity to work with incredible people, develop your career and support others to have a good life Location: London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Type of Service: Learning Disabilities Hours: 37.5 per week based on flexible rota; mornings, days, evenings and weekends Salary: £24,853 per annum A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager to co-manage a strong team of Support Workers who positively impact the lives of the people we support at our supported living service in Kensington & Chelsea. The role of the Deputy Manager will be to provide leadership, development and direction across the service ensuring that the team provides the people we support the service they need to lead a good life and achieve the things that are important to them and their families. As part of the role as a Deputy Manager, you will be involved in all areas of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, training and development, performance management and motivating your team. Additionally, the Deputy Manager will be ‘hands on’, leading by example through the provision of outstanding levels of service to the people we support. Building relationships with the people we support and their families is vital in this role. The ability to demonstrate your knowledge of person centred working & developing person centred support plans with individuals is also important. To be a successful Deputy Manager you will need to demonstrate: Experience of supporting people who have learning disabilities to become more active in their community Experience of Key/Link Working with individuals and of enabling people with learning disability to take positive risks in the lives Experience of mentoring/supervising/coaching others Person centred working & developing person centred support plans with individuals Enabling people with learning disabilities to take positive risks in their lives. Knowledge of safeguarding Able to organise self and others to get things done with a high level of attention to detail Able to manage money and record spending We will trust you to To develop and implement individual care plans; ensuring all plans and records relating to people we support are accurate and up to date using respectful language which allows them to see what progress is being made against goals; track areas of concern (e.g. health) and take action as agreed. Work in a consistent and positive way with local managers and other team members to ensure people get a great service from the whole team at any time. Ensure all organisation policies and specific agreed ways of working in the service are followed e.g. that specific support plans are being followed up, that medication processes are being adhered to, that money is managed effectively, that health and safety practices are carried out. Supervise, coach and train inexperienced and junior colleagues in person centred support practices and your specialist area of expertise, giving and acting on received feedback on what is going well and what is not going well. Ensure effective day to day management of colleagues inclusive of activity delegation, quality assurance, performance management and recruitment and selection as appropriate to the role. Develop and maintain links with professional bodies that support your area of expertise such as Autism, Dementia, Intensive Interaction, community connecting, employment and training implementing changes in practice with the team and the organisation What’s in it for you?
