Enterprise Technology Architect We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Technology Architect to join our client on a long-term contract basis. The main purpose of the role is to undertake a technological impact assessment and produce a conceptual & logical design, for the creation of a large-scale/industry wide register & retrieval system. The role will be within a vast financial services organisation and will be an interesting and high-profile programme for the right individual, creating a truly market-changing piece of work. Responsibilities Understanding the business needs and seeking to address those needs through the development of appropriate technical options Providing accompanying detail on costs, risks, timescales, fit to outcomes. Developing an understanding of the potential internal and external use cases Understanding existing approaches taken in other jurisdictions, and by other external parties Assess the compatibility of different approaches with other external agencies' and firm's architecture. Helping shape, assure and advise on the required programme, and solution architecture to ensure they support the business drivers Providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on technical aspects of the developing proposals Working with other EA's, Solution Architects and System Engineers to ensure alignment to wider EA Strategy, principles and patterns. Draft relevant artefacts to articulate the options, approaches and designs Knowledge & Experience Requirements Knowledge of financial services/regulatory sector Experience of developing large-scale enterprise application, infrastructure, data and business architectures Experience of designing systems to provide data ingestion, storage and access capabilities in a high volume, high-security environment Expert knowledge of a broad range of technology types covering traditional and cloud delivery methods as well as data transport and integration architecture Desirable Retail banking and payment systems experience and knowledge Knowledge of European financial services regulation, specifically, Anti-money laundering regulation Experience with Register/Retrieval systems in the banking industry or broad cross-industry data collection systems. Experience of relevant public sector agency architectures Skills & Qualifications Requirements Experience of using architecture frameworks, processes and bodies of knowledge (eg. CMMI, TOGAF, Zachman, DMBOK, BIZBOK) Excellent stakeholder management at all levels; both internally and externally.
