We are looking to recruit Java Developer - Software Engineer, multiple roles like SE or SSE having 2 plus years of commercial experience with sound Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ideally from a software development / Programming background you will need to be a proactive and versatile team player who is able to undertake all Software Development / Support activities with minimal supervision. The candidate should have sound knowledge in SDLC concept. You should be a quick learner and some self-motivated personnel having good communications skills. Degree level qualification or an NVQ Level 6 qualification with 5 years’ experience. Salary £34K - £65K depends on experience. Weekly 37.5 hours work on flexi working system with 24 days annual holidays excluding Bank holidays. Job purpose The senior software developer is responsible for architecting, developing, unit testing and supporting reliable solutions that deliver client’s business objectives. They must demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Java, Maven, XML technologies, JUnit (or similar), source control and web services. Ideally the senior software developer will also have experience with microservices, Java IOC containers and have worked in an agile environment. Main responsibilities Architect software solutions using design patterns. Apply a test-driven approach to solution design, development and unit testing Develop software solutions within a CI/CD environment. Develop secure, robust and scalable software solutions that conform to SOLID and DRY principles. Build effective unit tests that prove the correct operation of the code at a unit level. Carry out code reviews against client coding standards and industry best practices. Resolve build and release failures as a priority. Provide accurate estimates as necessary. Adhere to departmental processes. Proactively collaborate with testers, analysts and architects to ensure a common understanding of the solution is maintained throughout the development cycle. Source code management systems - ideally Git and GITHub. SQL queries and database access tools. XML technologies (XSD, XPath, XQuery, XSL, and XSLT). SOAP and REST Web Services. IOC containers such as Spring – not essential. n-tier architecture experience Java, including familiarity with multi-threaded Server-Side processing Experience with the design and implementation of web systems with frameworks such as Spring MVC, Struts, etc Experience in UI integration (AngularJS) with java services, experience on JQuery Experience in json design with YAML (Swagger tool) Knowledge of web technologies and new developments/trends in the web development field Hands on experience with Cloud environment or exposure an added advantage ** We consider candidates for contract as well, working in our London office or at client site (New castle) paying circa between £280 to £320 per day on DOE.
