Arts & Tourism Officer who has arts and tourism experience with excellent organisational, time-management, communication and people skills is required to promote the historic market town in Corsham as a great place to visit and support the town’s Cultural and Creative Corsham Ambitions. SALARY:£18,672 - £19,446 pro rata LOCATION: Corsham, Wiltshire, South West England TYPE:Part-Time WORKING HOURS: 22 Hours per Week, 9:00am to 5:00pm Wednesday – Thursday and 9:00am to 4:30pm Fridays – This job will also require occasional evening and weekend work – PLEASE NOTE:The working hours are non-negotiable JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for anArts & Tourism Officer who has relevant experience with excellent organisational, time-management, communication and people skills. Working as the Arts & Tourism Officer you will promote the historic market town of Corsham as a great place to visit; engage with the local community and help the creative industries in Corsham thrive. As the Arts & Tourism Officer you will need to have previous industry experience with a passion for promoting the town as a tourist destination; a creative hub for artists by organising exhibitions; a viable film location for film location companies and help promote local heritage. As a successful candidate, you will have a great opportunity to work in this interesting and rewarding position, where no two days are the same. DUTIES Your duties and responsibilities as the Arts & Tourism Officer: Promote and market the town of Corsham, including developing display sites for promotional material Provide support and advice to promote Corsham as a tourist destination Produce information leaflets and brochures, including promotional merchandise Promote and update information on the required websites, as well as social media Continue to develop the creative strategy and cultural strategy, working with identified stakeholders, including The Pound, Bath Spa University and other external bodies Develop Corsham’s creative potential through working with artists, co-ordinating exhibitions and providing a creative element to the town’s activities and events as required Develop Corsham as a film location, liaising with film location companies Attend Community Services and other meetings and give presentations and updates as required IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Candidates will need the following skills, experience and qualifications: 5 GCSE (A-C) or equivalent including English Previous industry experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including dealing with the public Good ICT / PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Great organisational, planning and time management and a high attention to detail The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Be an excellent team player Good financial / budgeting skills Full Driving Licence Previous experience organising arts or cultural events or activities would be highly desirable Tourism and Arts qualification would be desirable HOW TO APPLY APPLICATION PROCESS:Candidates will be required to complete an application form, which will be emailed over separately.
