Underwriter – Secured Lending – Award winning secured lender Salary Up to £32k basic salary Plus Excellent Bonus up to £1000 per month and Benefits – package in excess of £40k Our client one of the highest performing organisations in the North West continue to grow in an exciting, sustained way and are looking the recruit two underwriters one based in Residential Lending dealing with Residential Mortgages and one based in Commercial Lending dealing with Commercial Mortgages, Commercial Loans and Bridging Finance. The Company Award winning, high performing secured lender (mortgage) Recognised for supporting employee career development including study where applicable – just been named a Sunday Times Top 100 employer Based in a state-of-the-art modern building based in the Heald Green/Gatley area Excellent benefits package including 25 days holiday, free gym membership, subsidised canteen and much more The Role Working in a dynamic, fast paced lending department, The key task of the Underwriter is to assess the risk, accurately underwrite and mandate mortgage, commercial or secured loan applications Key Responsibilities: To professionally assess all cases from direct customers and brokers in order to make informed underwriting decisions that are in line with Company policies, procedures and lending criteria To accurately assess the risk on an application ensuring that the loan is affordable To minimise the risk to the business and the applicant with a strong focus on fraud avoidance To proactively manage a pipeline of cases To provide brokers and customers with accurate case updates at all points in the process To provide a high level of customer service at all stages of an application To ensure that all regulatory requirements are adhered to throughout the process To ensure that all new business is reviewed within the agreed service levels and according to agreed mandate levels, KPIs, policies and procedures To undertake credit searches and affordability assessments, review valuations, and other supporting documentation as required To minimise the risk of fraud to the business and the applicant To provide brokers and customers with accurate case updates at all points in the process To provide a high level of customer service at all stages of an application Skills & Experience: Previous underwriting experience within the secured lending or residential mortgage market Experience of dealing with brokers and third parties GCSE (minimum Maths and English A-C) PC skills including MS Excel and Word Excellent communication skills Attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines Strong planning and problem solving skills If you do not have a current CV but would like to apply for this role, call Gavin Reynolds at Recruitment Solutions (NW) for an initial conversation about the role WE REGRET THAT DUE TO THE VOLUME OF APPLICANTS THAT WE TYPICALLY RECEIVE, WE ARE UNABLE TO RESPOND TO ALL APPLICANTS WHO ARE UNSUCCESSFUL WITH THEIR APPLICATION
