Technical Manager (Sheet Metal sector) £50,000 basic salary + benefits Our client is a long established engineering company based in Birmingham, with a fabulous heritage spanning over 50 years. Renowned for the exceptional quality of the components they produce, their client base consists of many prestigious names in the field of Automotive Manufacturing. They now require a Technical Manager to join their management team to form and lead the technical function. This is a key role, strengthening the management team and helping move the company forward in line with their strategic vision. Key Duties: Develop a technical function, by bringing together a number of separate functions including, design, engineering, prototyping and quality Develop and implement processes to ensure customer development work is undertaken and tracked accurately to meet demanding timescales Lead all capex schemes, developing business cases using standard analysis tools. Develop a high performance team, identifying skills gaps, implementing robust training plans and recruiting to expand the team Monthly reporting and monitoring of all KPI’s along with any necessary back on track actions Work closely with all departments in the business Contribute to developing and reviewing the business strategy on an ongoing basis The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to undertake different duties to ensure the smooth running of the company To Apply: Must be able to demonstrate leading a technical function and have a technical qualification (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred) Must be fully conversant with at least one leading CAD package and be capable of producing detailed drawings (Catia experience preferred) Must have experience working with quality standards and helping implement internal practices to ensure compliance with standards Must have good Communication skills Must be Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Knowledge of sheet metal materials and the manufacturing processes associated such as laser cutting, press braking and welding.
