Job Description - Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Engineer A Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Engineer is required at a leading manufacturer based in North Derbyshire. Turning over more than £15 million and with more than 150 heads, this is a brilliant opportunity for a Quality, Health, Safety and Environment professional. Purpose Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the purpose of the role is to recommend, implement and review all processes of production to minimise waste and maximise efficiency's. In addition, the role will reduce impacts on the environment, reduce non-value adding activities through improving processes. Duties and responsibilities will include: - Actively promote quality, safety and environmental management systems - Challenge current processes and procedures within production to ensure HSE and Quality standards are all adhered to - Identify areas of waste on current processes in terms of time, materials and manpower's and to implement quick wins when possible -Train and develop production staff in quality improvement tools including 5's and Kaizen - Provide in depth technical assistance to Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing - To be responsible for establishing reduce inspection levels based upon process capability studies for these efforts to have the effect of reducing manufacturing and production cycle time - Conduct VA/VE activities, generating future state maps for current processes, establish required process/engineering changes, justify changes in terms of expenditure and pay-back The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences: - Experience in implementing Continuous Improvement projects - Experience in a diverse range of problem solving techniques - The capacity to implement and drive process change with a minimum of disruption to production - A proven track record as a Quality/Process Engineer within a manufacturing background - The competence to work independently and under own initiative - Strong communication and influencing skills -Fluent in process control tools including SPS, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, 5's, Kaizen, OEE, VA/VE, VSM This is an exciting opportunity for someone driven by influencing positive change and has a key focus on improvement to joining a well, established, advanced business.
