Learning Disabilitity Day Centre Activity Co-ordinator
We have an exciting opportunity for a Part time 25 hpw Activities Co-ordinator to run our Day Centre Lilliput's,a learning disability day service in Hornchurch, which provides a range of activities supporting 16 to 18 year olds and adults 18 and over with supporting learning disabilities and associated complex needs. Providing access to a wide range of activities in the local community, including horse riding and visiting local social and leisure facilities Therapy sessions including hydrotherapy, art and music therapy A variety of classes including swimming, cookery, IT, music and arts and crafts Sensory sessions ASDAN programme – supporting people to achieve nationally recognised qualifications SEN experience essential Excellent Management skills required Main responsibilities Our Day Service is located within a cluster of residential services for adults and children with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, ADHD and communication and sensory difficulties. You will be responsible for day-to-day running of the Centre and all matters relating to the people we support, ensuring that high standards of care and support are maintained and adhering to all requirements and all legislative regulations. You will also take full managerial responsibility for the induction, development and supervision of all Facilitators and supervise the work of Home Support Workers accompanying service users at the Centre. You will supervise and support the work of Facilitators, Support Workers and bank staff ensuring that duties are carried out in such a way as to maintain good levels of support and development at all times. This may be an ideal position for someone looking to work school hours, as we will try to accommodate your hours if possible. A full job description is available on request. CMG1 Ideal candidate You will be an experienced Day Services Facilitator or Co-ordinator with experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, specifically PMLD. This position may also be suitable for a special needs teacher looking for a change in direction, as the emphasis is on designing and delivering activities to provide opportunities for fulfilment. You will also be experienced in managing a team.
