Team Manager Location: Tottenham, London, N17 6RA Grade: £26,900 Hours: 37.5 hours per week including evenings and weekends Our client is a dynamic and innovative, award winning community based organization that provides support for drug users, ex-drug users and the local community. Our client’s unique strength lies in their approach, working in and with communities to encourage and support ex-users to become peer supporters, mentors and advisors. Due to continued growth and success, our client is currently looking to coordinate and facilitate a programme of community based peer support group sessions, and to co-ordinate and facilitate outreach activities by bringing on a Team Manager to assist with these goals. Duties Will Include: •To supervise a team of peer support facilitators and volunteers, to ensure the proper execution of duties and to identify areas for personal development. •To undertake the delivery of a monthly programme of themed group sessions for ex-drug users, drug users, family and friends within the local community. •To provide a safe space for current and ex drug users to support each other through discussion and constructive feedback. •To signpost individuals who may have no previous experience of engaging with established drug services to the relevant agencies. •To provide up to date information on drugs and drug treatment. •To provide confidential one-to-one support. •To invite guest speakers and relevant professional to group sessions. •To prepare and coordinate the team timetable for the peer support and outreach workers, and ensure that the office diary and information board is kept up to date with all staff and volunteer movements. •To coordinate outreach activities with staff and volunteers, including attending local community events and festivals. •To maintain and develop positive relationships with all workshop attendees, neighbours and the community. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties as you will be given further responsibilities. The Ideal Candidate: •Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent •Demonstrable knowledge of drugs and their effects •Knowledge of peer education, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, SMART recovery and the Twelve Step Philosophy. •Demonstrable knowledge of Public Health Guidelines, and Models of Care. •A minimum of 2 years’ experience of providing group support education. •Ability to develop positive relationships within a group setting. •A proven record of organising undertaking outreach and community engagement activities. •A clear and demonstrable understanding of habitual behaviours related to substance misuse in general and illicit and recreational drug use in particular. •Clean driving licence •Must be IT literate in Microsoft Packages Closing Date: 5pm on Wednesday 24th October 2018.
