Peabody has a fantastic opportunity for a Flexi Support Worker to join the team based in the South Essex Area. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and you will receive a competitive salary of £8.75 - £9.36 per hour. Sleep in paid at £70.47 per night. The Flexi Support Worker role: As part of a large pool of zero hour contracted Flexi Staff, you will be booked for ad hoc support shift cover at services matching your skills and experience. Flexi staff are deployed during periods of staff absence or to cover a vacancy until a permanent staff member has commenced in the post. Deployment of Peabody’s flexi staff is overseen by the Flexi Service Team based at Pembroke House in Pitsea, Essex. Our expectations of Flexi Support Staff: - Physically and mentally able to perform the role of a Flexi Worker including manual handling, hoists and personal care depending on the needs of each individual service and customer - Reliable, honest and trustworthy - Attend the full 6 day Training Academy prior to commencing their role if working within Care. Supported Housing roles will only have to complete 3 days of the Training Academy - Ensure they receive medication competency clearance before the administering of medication to a customer (if required) - Treat people who use our services and colleagues with respect - Make themselves familiar with the physical and emotional needs of customers by reading care and support plans and communication books before commencing a relief shift and to speak up if they are unsure of anything - Strive to meet the needs and choices of our customers - Identify and respond to the changing needs of the people who use our services What we’re looking for in our Flexi Support Worker: - Previous care and/or support worker experience - An understanding of the needs of different vulnerable client groups - Ability to keep clear and accurate records - Demonstrate ability to relate respectfully to customer needs - Ability to encourage independent learning skills using a variety of different forms of communications - Ability to empathise and advocate for the needs of customers - Flexibility and reliability in work place / hours / approach - Demonstrate ability to work hard as part of a team - Experience of welfare support and government initiatives Benefits of becoming our Flexi Support Worker: - Paid training and DBS checks - 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) - Up to 4% pension contribution matched 1:1 - Paid Mileage - Spot Bonus - Long service awards - Friends and family referral rewards If you feel have the skills and experience to become our Flexi Support Worker please click ‘apply’ today, we’d love to hear from you!
