Settlements Administrator (Investment Operations), Sevenoaks, £32k 6 month FTC

Purpose of Job:

To ensure all aspects of Asset Servicing Administration (trade processing, settlements and reconciliation of client stock and cash records) are completed correctly and efficiently, in accordance with regulatory rules and the agreed company business practices and standards.

Key Accountabilities

1. Process all Asset Servicing Administration tasks using workflow system and in accordance with procedures.

• All aspects of Asset Servicing Administration completed correctly, efficiently and in line with all regulatory guidelines and internal service standards.
• All daily processing of transactions conducted in a timely, effective and accurate manner within agreed KPI’s and specified processes including: equities, Unit Trusts, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Cash and foreign exchange transactions and all associated contract notes/trade confirmations
• Stock and cash reconciliation breaks investigated thoroughly and satisfactorily resolved

2. Working to defined Process Management guidelines to achieve agreed SLA’s/KPI’s.

• Procedures understood and followed with a high degree of accuracy; department productivity targets achieved consistently to minimise work backlogs.

3. Participate in team meetings & look for ways to improve service and processes.

• Improvements suggested to working practices and solutions to issues raised. New procedures created for new/changes to processes/products.
• Working effectively in a team environment demonstrating, flexibility/adaptability and support for colleagues and other internal departments. Pro-actively participating in team meetings

4. To assist the ‘Team Leader – Asset Servicing’ with ‘ad-hoc’ projects and in other tasks

• Effective, willing support given to ‘ad-hoc’ projects and in other tasks as required with all involvement conducted and delivered to the required standard.

5. Acquire, expand and retain sound product knowledge of relevant company products and awareness of their attributes and rules.

• Required level of knowledge / awareness around a number of key technical areas demonstrated (with good awareness of current legislation & regulatory changes.

6. To report promptly to the Company’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer any known or suspected money laundering activities

• All known or suspected money laundering activities promptly reported to the Company’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer
• To act in accordance with the Company’s operating and compliance procedures at all times and to bring any potential or actual breaches to the immediate attention of the Head of Compliance
• Company’s operating and compliance procedures adhered to at all times with any potential or actual breaches reported immediately
Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience
• Possesses a sound knowledge of global trade settlement practices and processes from order initiation through to settlement
• Has knowledge of asset reconciliations and awareness of FCA CASS rules
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• High level organisational ability
• Strong communication skills
• Relevant industry qualifications
• At least 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English
