We are working alongside a secondary pupil referral unit located in Oldham. The school has a lovely big building with great facilities. The school is ideally located off Ripponden Road.

The school caters for students aged 11-16 from all backgrounds, trying where possible to reintegrate them back into mainstream school.

The schools ethos is to give their pupils a nurturing and inspiring environment where students are supported and encouraged to take charge of their lives, their learning and their decisions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Establish and maintain effective relationships with students

Work with a specified class or groups of (or individual) students to achieve learning targets set by the classroom teacher. This involves understanding and respecting the learning styles and preference of student(s) and using this knowledge to support the student(s) when working on their own or in groups.

* Support students during learning activities

Working under the direction of the teacher, provide the appropriate level of support needed by students to promote independent learning, responding to any signs of distress or conflict and feeding back to the teacher about progress made by students(s)

* Provide care and support for the students

Promote student well-being by encouraging them to develop good relationships with others, develop their self-reliance and self-esteem, and help them to adjust to new settings and to practice good standards of health and hygiene.
