Python Developer / Software Engineer / Backend Developer - High Growth Start-up - London

This business is on an upward trajectory and is full of some of the Capital’s brightest minds, many of who have PhD academic backgrounds. You’ll be challenged on an intellectual and technical level and will need to find solutions to some incredibly complex and difficult problems. The business is revolutionising their sector and turning the business model on its head and working on the cutting edge of predictive analytics and revenue optimisation. Their platform’s proprietary algorithms and machine learning techniques have created a platform that’s totally unique and gaining interest from clients all over their sector. It's a great time to join them!

As a Python Developer, you’ll be working on:

A complex REST API and web-sockets server written in Python. These two components are responsible for powering the client's real-time dashboard, which is the main interface used by their clients and a critical part of their stack.

The technical challenges are immense - from aggregating huge data sets on the fly to ensuring consistent real-time delivery to the dashboard under intense load. Some of the features will require changes to our main data pipelines as well.

Although this is primarily a Python role, there will be occasional Javascript work in the dashboard itself (roughly 20% of the time). Javascript experience is not required, but a willingness to learn is essential.

To be considered you’ll have previous experience as an SW Engineer and will have exceptional technical skills including:

* Python and SQL

* Flask or a similar web framework (Falcon, Django)

* SqlAlchemy (or a similar ORM)

* Experience is developing high-traffic web apps.

* Pandas

* Scientific Python stack (numpy and scipy)

* ES6 /full-stack experience

* Kubernetes

* Distributed stream processing, e.g. Apache Storm or Beam.

This business has recently announced a substantial funding round, and they’re going through a growth phase and expanding in their current sectors as well as taking their platform into new markets. As well as being challenged intellectually and working on some amazing software projects you can expect a base salary up to £80,000 and decent equity within the business.
