Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a full time Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our successful supply teaching support team and to work in a local SEND School in the Gateshead local authority. This will be a full time role to work with and support mainly Secondary aged students who have complex emotional and behavioural difficulties and will commence following the October half term 2018.

This SEND School caters for KS3 and KS4 and specialises in supporting students who have Moderate learning difficulties as well as complex mental health and behavioural difficulties.

The successful Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant will have excellent knowledge and experience of supporting young children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).

This is an excellent opportunity that is on a temporary to permanent basis meaning, if successful following a 12 week probationary period you will be taken on directly by the school either on a fixed to contract or permanent basis.

To be considered for the position of Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant, you must:

Have experience supporting Primary or Secondary students in an SEND setting.
Have a background in education, outdoor education, care or support.
Ideally be Team Teach trained.
Be flexible, resilient, committed and compassionate.
Have a passion for teaching complex young people in an extremely rewarding role.
