Becoming a Configuration Analyst with Capita Communications and Control solutions:

Capita Digital & Software Solutions (DSS) is a market leading developer and supplier of communications and IT systems across the Public Safety and Criminal Justice sectors. Through the successes of our various product and service offerings, we have developed an in-depth understanding of the special operational and communication needs of the emergency services.

DSS capabilities include systems integration, application development and maintenance, deployment and support, network planning and support, mobile data command and control systems, dynamic call handling and outsourced managed services.

This role sits within Capita Communications & Control Solutions business unit, providing the core IT services that support our Company and our Customers, in particular Configuration Management control in accordance with the requirements of the ISO20K standard.

The role will ensure Configuration Management is applied and maintained in line with the ITIL Framework and ISO20K as defined in the Service Catalogue and Business Service Register.

This role involves both process and resource management skills and will be pivotal in ensuring adherence to process, SLA compliance and identifying improvements that will be addressed via the Continuous Service Improvement Program (CSIP).

What you will do:

* Effective prosecution of the Configuration Management process using controlled processes, procedures and tools to maintain the Configuration Management System and continued compliance to required ISO20K accreditation.
* Providing support and justification of Configuration Management principles, processes and procedures.
* Updating and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring that data quality and accuracy is of the highest standard.
* Investigation and resolution of all defects and problems reported against the Configuration Management process.
* Production and delivery of reports – Customer, Status accounting, Trend analysis, ad-hoc.
* Audit of CI’s to maintain the accuracy and requirements of the appropriate Contract.

Your experience will include:

* Good understanding of the lifecycle of assets (procurement to disposal)
* Experience with service management toolsets.
* Good understanding of all Service disciplines – e.g. Change, Incident, Problem, Release etc.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Proficient in the use of MS Office products.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Excellent Customer relationship skills.
