1st line support

My client is in the market for a 1st line support engineer/service desk engineer,


you will provide vital service and support for all IT and telecom issues that arise across all the business units and to support projects and change within the IT infrastructure and group business environment.

• 1-2nd line support for issues raised by the multi-site customer base. Call logging and closure of requests via the helpdesk system. Collaborate on and escalate high priority issues where necessary
• Respond to requests for technical assistance via phone or e-mail in a troubleshooting capacity for Windows desktops and Microsoft Office environments
• Monitoring and chasing for updates within IT of unresolved requests
• Upkeep of the IT Knowledgebase
• Provide hardware support for servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile communications equipment
• Administration/Trouble shooting terminal services environment and client side hosted environments and configuration of Windows based software applications
• Active support and collaboration on IT project implementations and rollouts
• Visit client or business sites to assist other technical staff
• Phone system administration (setting up extensions, voicemail etc)
• Windows system administration (creating user accounts etc)
• Provide support for bespoke manufacturing equipment
• Any other IT related duties in line with core business activities

Technical Skills

• A minimum of three year’s relevant experience, ideally in a multi-site or Helpdesk environment
• Able to provide support from 1st to 2nd line for all technical issues (desktop/server/network)
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems Win7/10
• Extensive understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration.
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 (setup/maintenance)
• Server hardware experience with HP platforms (server/SAN)
• Good knowledge of O365
• Experience of Sharepoint configuration and administration
• Experience of remote support trouble shooting
• Operating system upgrades and PC/Laptop replacement
