Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Specialists are looking to recruit a Train Driving Lecturer, who has extensive experience in the rail industry to join our prestigious further education client based in Doncaster. Our client will take your wealth of experience and give you industry leading training and qualifications to enhance your development to become a teaching professional.

The Opportunity

Our client is a Prestigious FE College that has been established to train the next generation of rail professionals. They offer training courses that cover the whole rail industry, from design and construction, all the way to maintenance and operations. As a further education college, the College will train learners from the age of 18 in Higher Apprenticeships and higher education programmes.

The Role

To deliver high quality and innovative teaching and learning in the subject of Train Driving and related rail topics’

* To help prepare teaching and learning to meet industry specification standards
* To provide advice and guidance on progress and set learning targets
* To work with awarding bodies, university partners, industry organisations, professional bodies, employers, other FE providers, trailblazing groups and government organisations
* To produce learning resources
* To engage with the rest of the curriculum team in planning and assessing
* To actively support and promote the college E Learning strategy
* To work with stakeholders to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of employers and the industry

Requirements:

Essential

* The Willingness to undertake a teaching qualification which will be supported by our client
* Minimum of 5 years train driving experience (Passenger or Freight Vehicles)
* Excellent communicator - written, oral and presentational with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of audiences both within and outside the college
* The ability to manage stakeholder relationships to ensure sustainable, long-term and productive partnerships.
* Knowledge and understanding of the rail industry
* Able to meet challenging deadlines when necessary

Desirable

* Knowledge and understanding of the rail industry and current and emerging technologies
* Recognised Assessor/Verifier award or willingness to work towards this by the company
* Working knowledge of curriculum development, professional development and assessment
* Experience of working with awarding bodies and higher education institutions to develop qualification framework.
