The Role
The Drum has an exciting opportunity for a Live Event Executive / Manager. You will be joining the team behind the biggest media and marketing platform in Europe, and the fastest growing in the US. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious person looking to join a fun, creative and results driven team, developing events and partnerships with the largest players in our market.
This role will organise and be responsible for several events in The Drum’s portfolio. You will run, develop and help grow these events and drive brand recognition in the UK and beyond
Specific Responsibilities
* Responsible for organising events and to achieve the set financial targets and KPIs
* Researching and recruiting judges and speakers of the highest calibre and looking after them
* Researching and contacting potential entrants/attendees, selling the benefits of entering and attending
* Accountable for the marketing of awards, ensuring the quality is of the highest standard
* Organising, attending and running judgings/ceremonies and associated events where required
* Organising other events such as workshops, panel discussions, round tables etc
* Ensuring sponsors are looked after and sponsorship packages are fulfilled
* Network with guests, judges, speakers etc and represent the company in an appropriate manner
* Always keep relevant websites up to date
* Oversee the relevant social media accounts
* To be aware of activities across the business and ensure cross-working with other departments to assist both the events division and the other departments to achieve their goals
* To ensure that company processes/systems are followed and kept up to date
* Keep costings up to date as per procedure
* Any other relevant tasks as required
Requirements for the Event Manager Executive Role
* 1-3 years events experience required.
* Great attention to detail
* Great organisational skills
* Limited/good sales & marketing experience
* Good Industry knowledge
* The ability to public speak/present confidently
* Proficiency in word/excel
* Good understanding of social media
* Be a team player
* The ability to work on own/use initiative
* The ability to take ownership of tasks
* Great time management
* Great customer service skills
* A willingness to travel
* A high level of literacy in English – verbal and written
* The ability to socialise and network
