HandyStaff are currently recruiting for Public Sector experienced Project Managers for our client (MoD) on a contract duration of approx 9 months.

The role will be based at our clients location in Corsham, Wiltshire, paying up to £500 per day via (Umbrella).

Security Clearance Level Required: SC - Security Check

R35 Legislation - Requirement StatusPlease note the determination made by the Contracting Body. Where it has been determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply and the worker elects to provide their services through an intermediary (such as a personal services company) then income tax and primary national insurance contributions will need to be deducted at source, from any payments made to the intermediary.

Description:

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included. Ongoing management of those plans to achieve the delivery goals Work with key stakeholders to manage the deployment of all aspects of the project assigned to Identify and mitigate potential risks for delivery of products Operate as a full member of the team; supporting the Programme Director and other team members as directed Project Manage all aspects of specific work packages Working with stakeholders to ensure Design; Delivery; Technical Build; testing; MI requirements etc are managed and delivered to date and time Completion of detailed plan for the medium term including MSP; Resources; costs Completion of the detailed design phase to time and quality; working with the Design team to secure stakeholder sign-off at all stages. Development of stakeholder relationship with suppliers; including preparation of joint plans; proposals and any design and build documentation. Completion of the high level plan through to Go Live and BAU handover. Experience in the delivery of projects; with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholders Experience of governance and risk control frameworks Good planning and organisational skills Strong leadership; people and communications skills Possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making.

Further information:

Interoperability Services and Gateways (ISG) have been delivering the extant High Threat Gateways (HTG) and Medium Threat Gateways (Pegasus) services for some 7+ years through a combination of UORs, international programmes and other national programmes. An increasing workload, incorporating 6 new Options together with a new programme to drive Value for Money into the delivery of future interoperability services has resulted in the need to grow the team and seek additional resources. The delivery of the interoperability projects will comply with the Information Systems and Services (ISS) Capability Introduction (CI) process, utilising standard programme and project management processes, tools and techniques.

Post Specific:

Project managers provide the successful delivery of ISG Projects. The role is to provide project management to commence the requirement definition, scoping, planning, costs and wider Concept Phase work together with managing the technical contract deliverables to support approvals for CDIS and Options. Additionally, where possible delivery into extant gateways.

Essential Skills:

Be skilled in Project Management Methodologies and Frameworks including:

PRINCE 2

APMP

Be skilled in Project Management Tools including:

Microsoft Project

Active Risk Manager

Be skilled in Service Management Methodologies and Frameworks including:

* ITIL – to Practitioner level

* Working knowledge of:

*

* MOD Acquisition Lifecycles (CADMID/CADMIT)

* MOD Approval and Scrutiny Process (AOF)

* Cabinet Office and Treasury Approvals

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Have a good understanding of Military Interoperability with Partner Nations

Have had experience with Service Management in a Military environment

Have proven experience of managing IS/IT Project Delivery, including to the UK Military

Have had experience of working in a Dev/Ops environment

Have experience of delivering technically complex ICT solutions

Minimum of SC clearance is required.

Overseas travel may be required.

Key Tasks and Deliverables:

Lead a team of Crown and contractor resources

Oversee and sign off FATS deliverables

Deputise for Programme Manager as required

Approvals – ARB, IAB, IAC, CAT C, D, etc, conforming to MOD approval process

Lead team and oversee development of Business Cases, standard project artefacts/annexes (cost model, COEIA, etc)

Liaise with and present at meetings with the Scrutiny community and at informal and formal boards

Liaise with Commercial re contracts and approvals

Chair team meetings

Attend checkpoint meetings with Programme Manager, preparing required inputs

Prepare presentation material as required, for all levels of seniority

Develop and oversee the maintenance of project schedules, using the EPM scheduling tool

Develop and oversee the maintenance of risks, using the ARM tool

Chair risk workshops with the team

Write a weekly highlight report to the Programme Manager

* Develop and oversee:

* Management of Stakeholder Plans

* Communications Plan

* Dependencies Plan

* Manage Finances and keep to allocated budget, forecasting future expenditure, attending regular meetings with Finance and Programme Manager

* Oversee timely processing of invoices/payments to suppliers in line with financial forecast

* Lead on lessons learned reviews, capturing and communicating actions to wider ISG team
