This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator to join a fun and innovative tech company based in Cambridge who through continued success is rapidly growing their IT Support team. A hands on role the Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading software, hardware and network infrastructure. This is a role which would suit a friendly, approachable individual who has a keen interest in computers, is able to work autonomously or as part of a team.

Start: ASAP
Location: Cambridge
Hours: 9am – 17.30pm Monday – Friday
Salary: £Negotiable depending on experience

* Responsible for the smooth running of internal systems for the business-support departments and internal teams, whilst engineering SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs

* Monitoring and tuning of infrastructure to deliver performance and high reliability

* Handling 3rd line issues reporting by in-house team members and seeing problems through from initial diagnosis to resolution

* Apply and maintain OS and Software patches and upgrades on a regular basis

* Mentoring/cross train other members of the team on existing new technologies and prioritise and manage multiple open projects and issues at one time

Knowledge and Experience:

* A deep understanding of computer systems, servers software and networking

* Demonstrable experience as a System Administrator in a commercial capacity

* Strong experience of maintaining a Windows Server 2008RS-2016 Active Directory environment including DNS, DHCP, DFS

* Knowledge of a Linux environment; Centos/Ubuntu

* Experience of WAMP/LMAP stacks; Apache, NGINX, IIS, MS Sql Server, MYSQL Server

* Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

* Exposure to and understanding Software deployment and patch management

* Experience of working in a fast-paced development environment
