An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CAD Play Space Designer within our exciting, established and progressive company. The purpose of the role is to provide innovative playground designs to potential customers within a wide variety of market sectors including Public Sector, house developers and schools.
The ideal candidate will be a key team player and confident communicator, someone who is creative and would demonstrate passion and flair for the niche and exciting ranges. An individual who possesses an exemplary and proven track record within a similar role. They will be naturally proactive and professional, will possess strong planning and organisational skills and they will be inspirational and positive.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Scheme design work:
• This role is responsible for creating a concept design scheme and developing this into fully detailed presentation material that includes pricing and eventually, installation information. The presentation material can be technical scale CAD layouts using AutoCAD software and/or a 3D visual representation using 3D MAX and Adobe creative suite software.
• The design work and presentation will ensure that the requirements of all stakeholders are considered through a creative solution that meets client needs and promotes the products, services and good practices.
• This role will use a flair for design to create vibrant, playful landscapes that appeal to children, families and owner-operators alike.
• Design work and liaison with other advisory parties will ensure that each proposal conforms to industry standards.
Estimating proposal:
• The scheme design proposal and associated construction costs are intrinsically linked and it is the role of the Play Area Designer to complete a detailed cost estimate for each scheme proposal using an in-house developed costing tool solution.
• Source prices that are outside the standard schedule of rates from approved sub-contractors and suppliers as required. You will liaise with the Contract Managers to ensure all works such as landscaping or bespoke features are correctly priced by approved suppliers.
Supporting bid documents:
• This role will work within the Tender process, understanding the importance of set deadlines and ensuring these are met on all occasions.
