About the role
As an online merchandiser you will support the Web Trading Manager to enhance the online customer experience to drive conversion and customer satisfaction.
Web Trading is responsible for optimising the conversion of site visitors to customers. This is done by optimising our products through enhanced content such as titles, descriptions & imagery, making the category structure easy to shop and using the website functionality and assets to raise visibility of products and inspiring customers to purchase online.
You will be responsible for
* Delivering KPI’s including Sales, GM%, Conversion, Bounce Rates
* Running weekly reporting data
* Regularly assessing the navigation of our onsite ranges and customer journey
* Maintain and enhance the category home page, landing pages and key promotions
* Day-to-day ownership of products on site: Everything from product titles, descriptions, and images to category hierarchy and onsite SEO will be you and your team’s responsibility, both at the initial set-up stage and for ongoing improvement and optimisation
* Utilising key promotional areas on-site to optimise sales and conversion
* Assisting with promotions including; briefing the design team for artwork, making sure all artwork and product listings are on-site with correct promotional messages and imagery, liasing with buying to confirm all promotions are confirmed and with stock team to ensure there is good stock holding on all promotional lines
* Evaluating the suitability of product reviews and ensuring the right response is given to customers if required
* Reviewing our competitors and taking necessary action to improve site merchandising. Dealing with all customer queries and working with internal teams to provide the right response in a timely manner.
* Idea generation: Creating innovative ways to increase both traffic and conversion
* Utilising web analytics: Monitoring KPIs and identifying areas in need of improvement
You will need
* PC Literate including Excel and Web Analytics skills: The role will involve analysing data and drawing conclusions from the data on a regular basis
* Strong administration skills to maintain consistent and optimised product listings
* Attention to detail, ensuring information is accurate
* Good communication skills as you will be liasing with different teams including buying, marketing & UX and suppliers
* You also need to be organised to deal with lots of different tasks at the same time
* You need to be a flexible team player who’s willing to get stuck in and help out
* Enthusiasm and a desire to learn are essential
* Customer focused as the more you can understand our customers’ needs, the easier and more fulfilling this job will be
* Creativity – to come up with new sales and seasonal initiatives Overall though, we’re looking for someone who’s passionate about making shopping on our sites the best experience possible
