Company Background

The Prestige Group is an OMB based in Stockton-on-Tees and has been trading for over 20 years in property development and operating care homes. The group is spearheaded by its founder and Chairman Raj Singh – a prominent entrepreneur and businessman in the local area.

The Prestige Group currently has three main trading arms – Operating care homes, new homes sales (branded as Redcastle Homes) and main contractor construction services (P&R Construction Ltd). The construction arm is currently engaged with new care home builds for the group and also on the Redcastle Homes developments.

Following receipt of a significant inward investment package into the care operations, the group is set to continue to grow and is looking for like-minded individuals to join the team.

The Role

The Buyer will be employed by P&R Construction Ltd and will work closely with the existing P&R Construction personnel as well as the group’s finance function. The Buyer will be required to get involved in broader aspects of the group’s business.

More specifically, the role will include;

* Assisting with the day-to-day purchasing of all construction site materials through a number of established supply chains

* Negotiating best price on all purchases

* Monitoring supplier performance

* Monitoring quality performance

* Sourcing and appointing alternative suppliers as necessary

* Managing all aspects of hired in plant.

* Raising purchase orders via the Eque2 system

* Working with the accounts team to resolve invoice queries

* Working with Redcastle Homes’ sales advisor to ensure client choices and extras are communicated to suppliers and site managers

* Assisting with Redcastle Homes customer care processes

* Working with site managers to ensure materials are ordered and delivered in a timely manner so as not to impede build progress

* Liaising with care home staff to assist with the purchase of equipment and services as required by then

* Procurement and management of the maintenance services supply contracts for the care homes

* Ensuring sign off limits are adhered to throughout the ordering process

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes;

* Understanding of terms and conditions of purchase

* Capable of working as part of a team and also on own autonomy

Previous housebuilding / construction background would be an advantage.

Previous experience of Eque 2 (construction bolt on to Sage 50) or similar software packages would also be advantageous. Training for these systems will be provided on induction.

What is essential is that the candidate possesses the correct general skills set and can demonstrate the right attitude to fit within the organisation. They must also have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar environment and role.

Basic Salary

£23,000-£27,000 dependent upon experience + other benefits
