We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Senior Buyer to join an exciting and niche engineering company on a permanent full time basis.

As a Senior Buyer, you will need to purchase at the best possible price and quality, any goods or services, in accordance to the current standard, advised specification and timescale needed.

In addition to this, you will provide specialist knowledge to the department, advising where necessary, and performing as a supervisor and mentor as required.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Provide a key buying resource to the company

* Obtain quotations as demand dictates for bought out parts either for assigned projects or goods and services as required

* Expediting any orders raised

* To manage selected suppliers in line with any specific technical requirements of the product

* To act in response to cost down initiatives identified by the Indirect Manager or others as potential areas for saving, actions, targets and timescales as dictated by the initiative

* Deal with suppliers in a professional and ethical manner

* Resolve any invoice queries in a timely manner to aid the cash-flow of the business


* Minimum 2 years purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment

* MRP experience preferred but not essential

* Proficient with Microsoft applications – Excel and Word in particular

* Experience of data entry and excel
