The Role
You will provide technical, data, advice and support to customers and colleagues, including contractors and lighting industry professionals.
Additionally, this role will establish training programmes to develop both product champions amongst the internal and external sales teams and provide a further “added value” service to our customers.
You will:
* Work with the customer service team to help resolve customer technical complaints/queries and be the first point of contact for colleague technical queries, escalating complex queries or claims to the Technical Support Specialist.
* Compile, provide and distribute technical literature/documentation to customers and sales teams.
* Quality check lamps and luminaires and manage the required measures to comply with Health & Safety law including any and all COSHH considerations and any relevant risk assessments.
* Package and return products to head office for analysis and send out samples to field sales and customers.
* Undertake physical application and analysis techniques for product testing/assessment at the on-site test centre, ensuring you comply with the relevant Health and Safety law and relevant risk assessments.
* Provide basic lighting design schemes using Relux/Dialux following training.
* Obtain and distribute information about new product ranges to internal and external customers, and participate in meetings and forums for the various lighting bodies including the Lighting Associations (LIA) and Voltimum, as well as develop an information sharing culture for the lamps teams.

* You will have strong analysis, root cause identification and problem solving skills, and experience helping customers resolve technical issues advantageous
* You will be able to remain calm when dealing with difficult customers
* You will have a proactive and organised approach to information gathering and sharing, and the desire to ensure customer satisfaction and have a good eye for detail.

You will be:
* Educated to A Level standard in Mathematics or Physics or equivalent subjects (an electrical qualification is desirable)
* Willing to work towards LIA Lighting Design Certificate.
* A team player and the ability to communicate at all levels
