Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £26,500 - £29,700

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an EMC Technician to join the multi-talented EMC Team in Edinburgh. This role is suited to those with a strong technical background starting off in their career in engineering or looking to expand their knowledge in something new.

The successful candidate will join a small team providing expert advice, guidance, governance and test on some of the most sophisticated high tech projects within the military & defence sector.

Key Responsibility Areas:

* Setting up, commissioning and running EMC tests such as Radiated Susceptibility tests at 200v/m and Conducted Emissions

* Running Electrical Power Transient tests on 3ph and DC supplies

* Performing Nuclear Event Electromagnetic testing

* Developing new test methodologies for our new products

* Supporting Project Design Engineers with fault investigations

* Supporting the EMC team with test equipment, calibrations, lab management other housekeeping activities.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:

* Ideally you will possess a minimum of HNC in Engineering

* Systems or related technical discipline and have sounds understanding of the basic principles of

1. Measurement & Instrumentation systems

2. Electrical power systems

3. Electrical & RF Safety

* Know how to work a Scope and Spectrum Analyser

* Know the difference between dBm and dBV
