1st and 2nd Line Support Engineer
£20,000 - £26,000 a year - Permanent
ACM Resourcing are currently working on an exciting opportunity to work for a Managed Service Provider who require a 1st and 2nd Line IT Helpdesk Support Technician.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Provide 1st and 2nd Line support to the IT users and systems within the business
* Installation and configuring hardware and software
* Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and solving faults
* Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure
* Remote, telephone or face-to-face support
* Procedural documentation and maintenance of asset register
* Setting up new user accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
* Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties), if appropriate)
* Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time
* Liaise with external software suppliers to resolve software and hardware issues
Skills and experience required:
* Experience in an IT Helpdesk environment is essential
* Experience of Active Directory and Windows Server
* Adopt a positive and enthusiastic approach
* Use empathy when dealing with employees on support issues
* Telephone, email and interpersonal skills
* Confident telephone manner
* Team player
* IT literate - Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Work to deadlines
* Flexible
* Calm under pressure
* Strong attention to detail
