Junior Web Developer - Portsmouth – £22,200-25,700 + Benefits

Do you have experience as a Web Developer or are you a recent Graduate with Web Development skills? Have you got fantastic experience of working with HTML & PHP?

One of Portsmouth’s largest and most reputable organisations is currently looking for a Junior Web Developer to join their Service Delivery team. The successful candidate will have a focus on undertaking programming and web development projects, including programming using HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP. You will be working on a range of app, desktop and web-based projects. The two languages you must have experience with are HTML and PHP.

In their modern and highly resilient environment, they provide the software, hardware and operating system platforms upon which the organisation heavily depends. The successful candidate will be joining a strong team and will be able to learn new skills and programming languages. Ideally you will have 1-2 years of web development experience, either from a paid job or a placement whilst you were studying. A software related degree or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Undertake Service Delivery programming and web developments including the planning, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of web-based applications as part of a team or individually, including HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP.

* Present projects at the Service Delivery Development Boards as required.

* Disseminate information relating to new products to staff and students of the University either by verbal communication or the use of documentation.

* Provide as required, an element of informal training to staff and students and other members of Information Services. This may include writing procedural documentation.

* Work with Service Delivery team members and customers to ensure that everyone is aware of customer requirements and to advise of new services or system changes.

* To assist Service Delivery staff in the operational administration of other SSD or IS services.

* To undertake training and development as required.
