Egham (TW20) also travel to Hillingdon and Cobham when required

Our client is an incredibly successful organisation within the learning sector. They have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and proactive 1st Line Support Engineer with excellent experience using Apple Macs. You will be required to perform skilled work in the installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, printers, software and other related equipment for the client. The 1st Line Technical Support Engineer will act as the first point of contact for all IT Service Requests and provide 1st line technical support to end users, aiding teaching and learning and supporting core operations.

Our client is looking for an experienced candidate with Apple Mac Certifications, as well as CCNA certification or relevant networking experience. Any further Microsoft qualifications would be welcomed. Duties for the IT Support Engineer:

* Acting as a resource person, advising on software and hardware products.

* Dealing with IT service requests passed through the Service Desk System, and escalated from the 1st Line Engineers.

* Provide sit-wide assistance and technical support to users through training and troubleshooting, as well as deal with issues relating to computer and network systems.

* Continually update network system security, and in conjunction with the Infrastructure Manager administer the Firewall and Internet filtering systems.

* Setup and configure Apple iOS, Mac OSX and Windows based desktop and portable computer systems.

The successful IT Support Engineer will have:

* Extensive experience within a 1st Line IT Support role in mixed Apple Mac and Windows based environments.

* Outstanding customer service and communication skills and the ability to provide a high level of service at all times within a learning environment.

* Experience with mixed Apple Mac and Windows based environments.

Desirable:

Apple Mac Certifications (ACTC) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA certification) or relevant networking experience for example ACA, ACP, ACMP, ACSA or ACSP. Any additional Microsoft Accreditations would be welcomed, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification. ITIL certification or experience working in an ITIL aligned environment.
