A leading chilled and frozen foods processor is currently looking to recruit a Quality Systems & Compliance Manager to be based at their large manufacturing site in North Yorkshire.

Being responsible for the quality of branded and retail own brand products, your main responsibilities will include:

* Responsible for Quality staff. Lead, motivate and inspire direct reports in line with customer and business values ensuring PDP process is in place and up to date

* Understand and apply relevant standards e.g. microbiology, nutritional, so that Customer, company and legal requirements are maintained and achieved

* Drive the internal audit program to comply with all external standards, ensuring that routines are in place, training needs are identified and actioned, and a culture of continuous improvement is embedded into the business

* Maintain and develop the Quality Management System so that it is fit for purpose for current customers and agile to accommodate future customers

* Assist, from technical standpoint, the NPD, Process and Operations teams. Provide specification and artwork check support

* Support completion of customer specifications, artwork checks and other ad hoc customer requests as required

* Support all supplier and customer audits / visits including co-ordination & communication of non-conformances and actions

* Support the evaluation of risks prior to the introduction of new processes, product or raw material. Ensure the risks and suitable controls are represented in the site HACCP, allergen risk assessment and TACCP such that a system of inspection and testing in place

* Act as deputy to Head of Technical

* Support delivery of Technical owned KPIs and trackers including appropriate communication to other teams to drive continuous improvement.

Suitable candidates will have –

* Previous experience with a BRC accredited Food Manufacturer.

* Proven experience in implementing and driving to BRC & Retailer standards

* Experience of managing HACCP, TACCP, internal audits etc.

* Good written and verbal presentation and communication – good listener - with analytical and reasoned persuasion

* Previous experience with customers – customer is confident that the individual can deliver what they need

* Experience in leading/managing/coaching small teams
