Technical IT Operator / Shift Co-Ordinator

Circa £22-26K

I am currently looking to recruit a Technical IT Operator / Shift Co-Ordinator to join my client based in Andover, Hampshire. This is a shift based role will include nights and weekends.

As a Technical IT Operator / Shift Co-Ordinator you will be providing front line support to the engineering team to ensure that any engineering related issues relating to the robotics, charging units and peripheral stations are investigated and resolved as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities will include:

* Monitoring SCADA to identify problem peripheral stations and assign to the Controls or Peripherals teams as required.

* Work with the Controls team to identify recurring technical station issues.

* Gather evidence of problem robots (ASBOTS) with the use of Dash, SCADA and Kibana, and limp home for investigation, supplying the Engineering team with any information gathered.

* Using Dash and Kibana, monitor on grid charging unit health and assign to Engineering for investigation / repair where appropriate.

* Identify problem areas of the grid and develop repair plan to assign to Engineering for repair during the daily repair window.

* Support the Engineering department in raising and reporting issues in relation to H&S using Assessnet.

What are we looking for?

* Working knowledge of IT, Software use and management.

* Self-motivated individual, consistent and able to work under pressure.

* Good technical & experienced hands-on ability relating to error detection and resolution.

* Fully computer literate.

* Good communication, organisation and planning skills.

* Sound analytical skills, able to look at data and solve problems with full customer focus and determination to deliver results under time critical situations.

* English Language ability such that able to read and understand safety information, technical manuals and data, and communicate clearly with colleagues to enable a safe environment.

Technical Profile

* Be familiar with basic linux shell commands to connect to remote hosts and traverse the file system.

* Be able to work with log files and extract relevant log lines through the application of commands used for file manipulation eg. grep and cat.

* Be able to communicate and articulate issues.

* Be able to identify and escalate operational issues to service desk via operations.

* Develop good knowledge of analytical software such as Kibana and Python

* To have a basic understanding of tools used to query and interrogate systems such as Kibana and Linux

Work Profile

* Document and escalate faults to other work streams / Engineering as appropriate

* Keep track and maintain a daily working log

* Provide hands on support for Grid Operators

* Adhere to safe working practices
