The role:

The purpose of this role is to provide a consistently high quality IT support service across College on a range of hardware and software issues.

What will the ICT Support Co-ordinator be doing?

* To deputise for the Head of IT as appropriate, e.g. during periods of annual leave, including the following:

* Being the key departmental contact for the Senior Management Team

* Monitoring the overall departmental workflow to ensure all deadlines are met

* Supervision of the ICT team, including people management responsibility as required

* Attend cross-college forums and meetings as the ICT representative, reporting back to the ICT Support Manager on actions required

* To contribute to the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) for the department

* To support the Head of IT with delivery of the ICT/ILT Strategy, taking responsibility for specific projects as directed.

* To provide 3rd line pro-active support, scheduled, task driven projects to improve the IT Service delivery.

* To provide a high-quality and effective ICT support service to all staff and students across College

* To develop strong working relationships with all staff and students to increase the visibility and profile of the department across College

* To adopt a pro-active approach to all requests, taking responsibility for ensuring that all issues assigned to you are resolved in an efficient manner

* To effectively assess the urgency of requests and prioritise accordingly to ensure a consistent service

* To identify, diagnose and rectify problems with application software or hardware in such a way that ensures minimum down time to the user

* To provide 3rd line technical support for peripheral devices

* Responsible for 3rd line administration of the network, server and virtualised environments.

* To apply application and system and application upgrades in a planned scheduled process whilst liaising with stakeholders as appropriate

* The automated automatic deployment of software packages, system updates and operating system roll out.

* The automation of the maintenance of the username and e-mail accounts.

* To provide 3rd line support to help maintain and administer the telephone systems, providing technical support for the infrastructure.
