Role - Project / Contract Engineer.

Location – Wolverhampton

Salary - Initial salary range £ 40,000 plus pension scheme membership.

Our client specialises in the supply and install industrial boilers on a worldwide basis. A major product section is industrial boilers for the bio-waste industries. A substantial proportion of the company’s sales are outside the UK. The company is involved in a number of state-of –the-art Green Projects.


We are looking for a Project & Contracts Engineer to assist our UK site management team for handling mechanical type contracts. We have a team of fitters & coded welders who are involved in new build boiler projects, pipe work contracts, boiler repair works & also general maintenance works. Therefore, an understanding of good engineering practise is required and to deal & resolve possible problems as they arise.

The role will entail the following scope of works: -

* Prepared to estimate costs for carrying out a project including supply of materials and labour requirement to complete.

* Ordering of materials and assisting in organising man power for sites.

* Liaising with clients as the contract progresses through to completion & hand over.

* Prepared to go to various sites around the UK to attend meetings & resolve any contractual issues as required. It should be noted we operate throughout the UK so persons applying for the position will need to be willing to stay overnight if the location is remote from their place of residence.

* Be capable of producing method & risk assessment method statements for which we have various templates to work.

* Dealing with various non-destructive testing (NDT) companies to organise for testing according to various design codes as well as with possible insurance agencies.

* Understand site quality assurance documentation.

Waste to energy plants

Biomass power plants

Oil & Chemical Industry

Paper making

Sugar factories


Food processing plants

All and any steam raising plants as well as high pressure hot water sites

We are also involved with thermal fluid oil heating systems

The role and position will be demanding so persons will need to be aware of this fact and be flexible to accommodate our client’s requirements which can often be on an emergency basis to react.

Training in the processes of tendering will be provided as well as boiler systems in general.


Qualifications are not essential but having a relevant degree will be advantageous.


* Good general computer skills are essential working with MSWord & EXCEL

* CAD experience.

* Good inter-personnel skills
