We are recruiting for 2 Care Assistants (dayshift) at Cramlington House in Cramlington and 1 Care Assistant (nightshift) at West Farm. The Care Assistant will be enthusiastic, positive and proactive in their provision of care. Residents’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing is our number one priority and Care Assistants must fully support our ethos of person-centred care and our key values. The position is a key role in the day-to-day care of residents, including helping residents to get washed and dressed, helping them in the bathroom, at meal times, and following stays in hospital or following illness or injury. Care Assistants will also help Cramlington House to run as efficiently as possible by changing bedding, sorting residents’ laundry, answering call bells, the front door and telephone when required and make all visitors feel welcome. The Nightshift role involves tending to the overnight needs of residents and ensuring they’re settled and comfortable throughout the evening. Cramlington House and West Farm are modern and welcoming homes with great facilities that have been designed with what the people living there want – comfort, safety, and a happy, stimulating home. Those appointed to the Care Assistant roles will understand that some of the residents at Cramlington House and West Farm have complex needs, and therefore need to be cared for in a specific and appropriate way. The successful candidates will, ideally, have experience in care and the promotion of physical and mental wellbeing of residents through talking to them, taking them out when possible, and sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, arts and crafts and other recreations. This is not essential, however, as we provide appropriate training and development upon appointment. Candidates must be willing to undergo appropriate training by the senior management team so that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to provide a high-quality level of care to residents. Care Assistants will ensure each resident’s care plan is updated accordingly following each shift and work cooperatively and proactively with the wider care team. They will report directly to the Senior Carer, raising issues or concerns appropriately and quickly. Care Assistants must also be flexible with working shift patterns and be able to support the care home as and when needed and at short notice, if shift patterns need to be changed or refined. Experience in residential and respite care is desired but not essential Available Hours: Permanent – 24 hours per week. 8am-8pm on a rota shift-based system Holidays: 28 days per year Salary: £7.83 (per hour)
