This role for a Marketing Officer has been released on a temporary basis until the end of March initially.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

* Design and implement the marketing strategy for the Museum, its exhibitions and events and measure its performance.
* Take a lead role in understanding our audience and the way in which they relate to the Museum, to inform our advertising activity and the way in which we engage with our visitors
* Manage the Museum’s PR activity
* Undertake the generation and production of marketing collateral including leaflets, posters, flyers, banners etc by liaising with museum staff, designers, printers and distributors.
* Develop and implement the Museum’s advertising plan for holiday guides, local press, papers, adverts and other appropriate channels. Liaise with media and designers.
* Create, maintain and update information on the Museum’s digital media; including website, e-newsletters, twitter, Facebook, Instagram to reach new and existing audiences.
* Build appropriate partnerships with departments within Bournemouth Council and other organisations to develop awareness of the Museum and extend the Museum’s promotional reach.
* Manage the marketing budget.
* Keep abreast of the market context. Follow market trends and in conjunction with colleagues act upon changes that may influence the Museum and the attraction of visitors.
* Act as a brand guardian, ensuring the correct message is conveyed across all channels.
* Develop new strategies for engaging with visitors at the Russell-Cotes and increasing visitor numbers.
* Be responsible for the administration and maintenance of marketing databases, client and stakeholder contacts, image bank and processing of procurement orders.

You should match the following criteria:

* Professional Qualification in Marketing (Diploma in Marketing).
* Experience in a marketing environment with proven successful measured delivery of marketing activities using multimedia channels, preferably within a comparable organisation.
* Experience of dealing with the media.
* IT literate with knowledge of MS office applications, preferably Publisher and Photoshop
* Good working knowledge and experience of websites, e-mail marketing software and social media platforms
