Support Analyst – IT Department – Preston

Full time – Preston

We are looking for an experienced Support Analyst to join our IT department. Do you have experience supporting Cisco, VMware, Citrix and Windows technologies? Have you worked in a law firm previously with exposure to Proclaim software? Do you want to work in a technology critical, leading north west law firm? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, determined and capable of providing a first class support service to the Firms users.

A positive ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn is essential for this role. On the job support and training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities

* To provide technical support; answering support queries either onsite or via phone or email

* To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles

* Liaison with 3rd parties to ensure the effective resolution of support calls

* To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues

* Logging all calls on the service desk system and maintain full documentation/solutions

* Respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems

* Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice

* Keeping technical documentation up-to-date within the firms knowledgebase

* Installing new and existing hardware including workstations, phones and printers

* User administration within an Active Directory environment

Key skills and experience

* Experience working within a busy support desk environment

* Exposure to Microsoft technologies such as Exchange, Active Directory, Server 2008/2012

* Exposure to virtualised & Cloud technologies

* Exposure to Citrix Xenapp/Desktop

* Understanding of backup, recovery, disaster recovery processes and data security

* Understanding of computer networking and basic troubleshooting

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook and Excel)

* Ability to think and provide solutions under pressure

* Willingness to take on additional responsibility and learn

* Excellent organisational and administration skills

* Excellent telephone manner and face-to-face communication skills

Desirable Requirements

* Experiencing working with and supporting Microsoft Office 365

* ITIL Foundation Certificate

* Legal experience
