We are looking for a qualified teacher to start working in a Special Educational Needs School in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The school caters for primary and secondary aged students (5-16) with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and / or Mental Health issues) who have found it difficult to cope in mainstream settings and can display very challenging and anti-social behaviour. The school gives students a chance to improve their behaviour and turn their lives around.

This role would also suit an experienced teacher who would like to gain expertise in an SEN setting.

The opportunities and challenges offered at the school allow pupils to enjoy their learning and celebrate achievements, develop as caring and responsible members of the community, make good progress in all aspects of their life and develop confidence and self-esteem. The pupils of this school have a statement of special educational needs in respect of moderate learning difficulties, specific learning difficulties or behavioural, social and emotional difficulties. Some have physical disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and other communication difficulties.

The pupils at the school are inspired to achieve their potential. There is a strong partnership with parents and the community to ensure that every learner achieves their potential and has a strong sense of community. They have a strong sense of "can do" and develop learners’ potential in all areas to allow everyone in the school community to thrive. The responsibilities of this role are:

* Creating innovative lesson plans.
* Delivering enthusiastic lessons to pupils.
* Tracking pupils progress and devising plans to improve progress.
* Differentiating lessons to accommodate for all pupils.

The requirements for this role are:

* A DBS on the update service (We can advise on this).
* Experience as a teacher.
* A teaching qualification.
